Elizabeth Sweet is a Midwest-based independent journalist specializing in design, architecture, and sports. Her work has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Dwell, and Milwaukee Magazine, where she examines design and it’s influence on personal growth, well-being, and athletic performance.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts in Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Sweet began her career at Chicago Home & Garden and Better Homes & Gardens, honing her editorial storytelling across both print and digital platforms. Now based in Chicago, she covers a wide range of topics, from women’s professional basketball and the NFL to contemporary architecture and historic renovations.
A passionate advocate for youth sports and female athletes, Sweet uses her platform to highlight underrepresented stories. In her work for Milwaukee Magazine, she explores the journeys of female athletes and coaches, advocating for greater visibility and equality in sports. Currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Sweet is also an enthusiastic middle-school girls basketball coach and mother of two.
